Finding your inspiration
So, how can you use your clothes, and your image generally to find your magic, your sweet spot? Somewhere that you are confident in your appearance, and where you are reflecting your story with your image and more widely, in your posture and sense of self?
Your source of inspiration might mean finding a real-life muse whose look you admire or might aspire to, or by finding an image online or in a magazine that you would really like to emulate. Perhaps you can build a look around your favourite dress or jacket that is already in your cupboard. You don’t need to have a huge epiphany, just a starting point. It may be that your intuition and your innate creativity will respond with such enthusiasm that just opening the discussion will lead you in all sorts of directions you hadn’t previously considered.
Imagine a situation when you have clothes in your wardrobe that make you feel good and look great, some accessories that work with a range of outfits, and a simple grooming regime of hair, skincare, and make-up (if you choose to wear it). Everything working together, as effortlessly as possible, towards a common goal.
Perhaps you are reading this and thinking “that sounds just like me” or “how on earth will I ever achieve that”. Wherever you are in your personal story, by using trial and error in a creative and positive way, you can quickly develop a winning formula and find your personal ideal mix of design, fit, colour, and texture. When you have created an image that makes you feel good, you can work out why this look is a success, and repeat the different elements that blend together so well.
Think about whether it is your hairstyle that makes you look good today, or is it the colours you are wearing, or the design of skirt, or the fact that you feel happy and are full of confidence? Perhaps it is one or more of these or maybe it is something completely different? Knowing and identifying the things that work for you means you can build up a sustainable image with a cohesive collection of clothes that will always help you to look great.
